Multiplayer Naruto game

Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker is a multiplayer-centric action game from Bandai Namco. Here, you will team up with your friends online and battle another team of four. Of course, you will play as ninjas from the popular anime series Naruto. Even better, you can introduce a new shinobi by creating your avatar.

However, compared to popular Naruto games, such as Ultimate Ninja Storm, you will find Shinobi Striker so-so. The combat is simple and repetitive, and the multiplayer mode is unbalanced. Even the most die-hard fans will find that the overall experience is not very fun

What can you expect from the game?

The Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker game is unique in the sense that you can create your avatar. The game has more than 200 customization items and abilities that you can use to bring a new ninja to the Naruto-verse. In addition, this third-person game has a new "cel-shaded" graphic style, which paints the characters, maps, and ninjutsu in brighter and more vivid colors.

As with other Naruto games, players in Shinobi Striker will go on missions. While it is primarily multiplayer, you can go on missions alone to familiarize yourself with the fast-paced movement and fighting. However, the game truly shines when you look for comrades and complete missions together. Here, you can team up with three people and compete against another team across a number of maps and game modes.

Unfortunately, a few minutes in, and you will find the game lacking depth and balance.  It only has a handful of maps. The solo missions are repetitive and are not very enjoyable. The multiplayer mode, meanwhile, is composed of classic staples that you've seen before. Not only that, but Shinobi Striker also comes with a lot of technical issues, such as clunky controls, poor camera movement, and slow character movement speeds.

A wealth of additions and new features

The latest Season 8 update for NARUTO TO BORUTO: SHINOBI STRIKER introduces exciting new content, including the Master Character Training Pack – Kawaki (Karma Progression) DLC. This DLC adds new Ninjutsu and items for avatars, as well as new outfits and hairstyles. Additionally, the Top Secret Training Set DLC for Season Pass 7 characters is available, allowing players to instantly unlock Ninjutsu and items up to Training Rank 5. However, Season 8 will mark the end of regular Season Pass releases, shifting instead to monthly updates with new features.

Among the new features are Summoned Animals and SS+ rank weapons. Summoned Animals provide strategic advantages in battle and faster movement across the battlefield, starting with the Ninja Hound. SS+ rank weapons, designed to be even more special than SS rank weapons, incorporate skills and traits from the original series characters. Season 8 will also introduce Special Ninjutsu Training and Special Ninjutsu. Each month, new content will be released, including specialty SS+ weapons, enhancing the gameplay experience.

Naruto deserved better

Overall, Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker is not a great game, even for a die-hard fan. Sure, it has an entertaining character creator and some fantastic customization options. However, beyond that, there is nothing more that the game can offer. Its gameplay is frustrating and boring, with repetitive missions and too simple combat. Despite its Naruto license, it is a sub-par action game and an even worse multiplayer.
